The Brookline book sale returns on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with books, baked goods and a late-afternoon bag sale. The Friends of the Brookline Public Library will hold the event at the Annex, 4 Main Street, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is a useful date for anyone looking to refresh a reading stack while supporting the local library.
Brookline book sale hours and location
According to the library’s official event listing, the sale takes place at the Annex in Brookline, New Hampshire. Set your destination to 4 Main Street. The main library’s address is 16 Main Street, so check which location your map selects.
The regular sale runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the bag-sale period is 2 to 4 p.m. If that final window is your main reason for going, put the afternoon hours in your calendar. The official listing does not state a bag price or payment methods, so ask the organizers about those details.
What you can browse
The event lists fiction, nonfiction, children’s and young-adult books, plus antiquarian titles. You can also look for DVDs, CDs, audiobooks and jigsaw puzzles. Baked goods round out the sale.
Before you leave home, make a short list of authors, subjects or gifts you would enjoy finding. However, leave room for a surprise. Used-book browsing works best when you have a few ideas without expecting a particular title to be available.
Also, think about where your finds will go. A small reading shelf, a basket beside a favorite chair or a puzzle spot can help keep a fall refresh manageable.
How the sale supports the library
The Friends of the Library describe themselves as an all-volunteer nonprofit. Their semiannual book sales help supplement the library budget, including museum passes and other purchases as needs arise.
For questions, the Friends list chairperson Dona Eaton at 603-673-7526 and the library at 603-673-3330. Check the official event page before heading out for any updates.
