Brookline Candidate Forum: What to Know for October 17

Sunlit New England dining room with four wooden chairs, a notebook and pen on the table, and a small American flag on a sideboard.

The Brookline candidate forum will give residents a chance to hear from people seeking state and county office before November’s general election. The Rotary Club of Hollis-Brookline will host the event on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Brookline Fire Department. The town’s announcement lists the morning program from 9 to 11 a.m. and encourages registration.

Brookline candidate forum schedule

The gathering will take place in the Fire Department meeting room at 4 Bond Street in Brookline. Organizers have divided the morning into a moderated forum from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a meet-and-greet from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

That schedule gives residents time to hear the organized discussion and then stay for the informal portion. Coffee and pastries will be available, and the public is welcome.

Brookline candidate forum participants

According to the organizers’ event listing, the forum will feature candidates seeking seats in the New Hampshire House, State Senate and Executive Council, along with other county offices representing Brookline.

The Brookline candidate forum announcement describes the offices involved but does not name individual participants. Residents looking for a particular candidate should check the event information for updates before making plans. The forum’s stated purpose is to help Brookliners hear from local and regional candidates ahead of the general election.

Register and watch for the recording

The town’s candidate forum notice includes the registration link. Registration is encouraged; the notice does not describe it as required. Check the town page again closer to October 17 for any schedule updates.

Organizers also say a recording will be available after the event. That offers another way to hear the discussion if the Saturday morning schedule does not work. The event listing does not give a release date or viewing link for that recording.

Where to find voter information

Residents who also need to register to vote can review Brookline’s voter registration guidance. The town lists registration through the Town Clerk’s office, at publicized Supervisors of the Checklist sessions, or at the polling place on Election Day.

The Town Clerk’s office is at 55 NH Route 13, with an entrance to the left of the building’s front entrance. Its posted hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., plus Wednesday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. For help, contact the office at 603-673-8855, extension 218, or patti@brooklinenh.gov.
