Ghost Train Trail Races return October 17–18, 2026, linking Milford and Brookline along the Granite Town Rail Trail. The weekend combines long-distance running with support for the trails residents enjoy throughout the year. If your weekend plans involve this corridor, check the race schedule and organizer guidance before heading out.
Ghost Train Trail Races: the weekend schedule
The 30-hour ultramarathon and relay begin Saturday at 9 a.m. at Camp Tevya, 1 Mason Road in Brookline. Their finish window ends Sunday at 3 p.m. Meanwhile, the 30-mile race starts at Milford DPW at 4 p.m. Saturday. The 15-mile race and relay start at Camp Tevya at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Those start locations matter when arranging a ride or meeting a runner. Review the organizer’s race overview and the details for the specific event you plan to support. Do not assume every race begins at the same place.
A Milford connection beyond the finish line
Milford’s Conservation Commission says it hosts an aid station for the runners, serving food such as grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. Its commission update also confirms the October 17–18 dates. That local volunteer work is part of what keeps a long event moving.
The race organizer says all profits go to the Brookline and Milford Conservation Commissions for trail improvements. It reports raising more than $350,000 since 2009. As a result, the weekend has a connection to everyday outdoor life well beyond the runners crossing the finish line.
Ghost Train Trail Races registration has closed
The official registration page shows registration is closed. In addition, the organizer says there is no race-day registration for any of the Ghost Train Trail Races. Do not plan on entering at the start line.
Check the latest guidance before visiting
First, read the current race information if you are accompanying a participant. Ask the organizer where supporters may park and meet runners. Then confirm which start location and time apply to your plans. These questions are especially useful when your group is arriving separately.
Finally, keep the organizer’s updates handy throughout the weekend. For a separate indoor outing nearby, our Milford fall craft show guide covers the October 17–18 event at the Hampshire Dome.
