Planning a fall garage or shed cleanout? The next Hollis household hazardous waste collection is Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon. It takes place at the Nashua Park & Ride, 25 Crown Street in Nashua.
This is the final date on the town’s published 2026 schedule. October gives you time to identify products that need special handling and ask questions before loading the car. Start with the official Hollis collection schedule.
Plan your Hollis household hazardous waste trip
The fee is $20 per vehicle for up to 10 gallons of liquid waste or 20 pounds of solid waste. Bring cash or a check payable to NRSWMD. Remember that this collection is in Nashua, rather than at the Hollis transfer station.
The regional program serves Hollis and ten other member communities, including Amherst, Milford, and Mont Vernon. Larger loads cost extra. Also, containers larger than five gallons need special handling and advance registration. Call NRPC at 603-417-6570 before bringing one. Review the regional program details for current limits and eligibility.
Check what belongs in the load
Accepted examples include oil-based paints, solvents, pesticides, gasoline, antifreeze, and household cleaners. However, the collection does not accept latex or acrylic paint, electronics, medications, or appliances containing Freon. Check the program’s full accepted and excluded lists before setting items aside.
A product’s location in your home tells you little about its disposal route. Read its label and match it to the official guidance. If an item is unclear, ask the program rather than guessing or mixing it with other waste.
Prepare for safe transport
The NRPC preparation guide recommends original, labeled containers whenever possible. Secure lids and caps. Keep containers that could spill upright in a plastic bin or tote, and place materials in the trunk or rear of the vehicle. Avoid temperature extremes and direct sunlight.
In addition, Nashua’s handling guidance says never to mix chemicals. Leave children and pets at home for the trip. At the collection site, remain in your vehicle unless staff tell you otherwise.
Make a short October checklist
First, inventory unwanted products and compare them with the program lists. Next, estimate the amount and flag oversized containers. Then add November 7 and the payment reminder to your calendar. Small businesses must register at least two weeks ahead and ask NRPC about eligibility, paperwork, and pricing.
Finally, recheck the official schedule before leaving. Planning Hollis household hazardous waste disposal now can make that November errand simpler. If your fall projects also include the garden, see our Hollis perennial workshop guide for the October 7 library program.
