The Hollis Town Clerk closure on Monday, October 12, 2026, is worth checking before you head out for a registration or records errand. A town notice posted October 5 says both the clerk’s office and New Hampshire DMV offices will be closed that day. Read the town’s closure notice.
Several routine services have online, mail or drop-box options. The important distinction for vehicle owners is whether you are renewing an existing registration or handling a new vehicle or plate transfer.
Check the regular office schedule
The Town Clerk’s office is at 3G Market Place. Its published weekly hours are Monday from noon to 5 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
With Monday’s closure, the next regular office day shown by that schedule is Wednesday, October 14. Check the town’s hours directory before making a special trip. The clerk’s phone number is 603-465-2064.
Hollis Town Clerk closure: online renewal options
The town’s Online Services page links to vehicle registration renewals and registration estimates. The renewal portal lets residents look up a registration using a PIN or a plate number and the last four characters of the vehicle identification number.
Allow time for processing and mailing. The Hollis registration portal warns that registrations become valid only after they are received and signed. It also cautions that an address change can send documents to the wrong place or back to the municipal office.
New vehicles need a different plan
New and transfer registrations cannot be completed online. The clerk asks residents to make appointments for new or newly purchased vehicles, plate changes or transfers, title work, lease buyouts and new-resident transactions.
Routine renewals do not need appointments. The Town Clerk page says walk-ins are handled between appointments, so allow some flexibility if you choose an in-person visit.
Use the drop box or mail when appropriate
For a vehicle renewal, the clerk’s instructions allow a check with the plate number or renewal notice. Include a phone number for pickup, or a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return mailing.
Mailed requests should go to Town Clerk, 3G Market Place, Hollis, NH 03049, with checks payable to the Town of Hollis. The office also provides a drop box at that address.
Need a birth, death or marriage certificate? The town’s online services directory has a separate request link. The clerk can mail requested records or call when they are ready for pickup. Check the relevant service instructions before submitting paperwork, especially if you need the documents soon.
